Fatigue testing of rollerskis
Findings from the gate lab, from computer simulations and from field studies allowed elaborating different test methods for quality testing as well as for dimensioning of new designs.
The dynamic strength analysis of a WEASEL rollerski model is conducted in a sophisticated fatigue test of 2 million cycles under loads of more than 2000 N (=+/-200kg). This corresponds to a maximum load profile on a rollerski during several thousand of kilometres during propulsion cycles.
